What does podofilox do to warts? ›

Podofilox works by destroying the skin of the wart. This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription. This product is available in the following dosage forms: Gel/Jelly.

At eight weeks, 81.1 percent of the patients treated with podofilox gel had either moderate or complete clearance of warts, compared with 17.2 percent of the patients treated with the vehicle gel. Significantly more patients discontinued treatment with the vehicle gel because of ineffective clearance of warts.
