Elsa Conjures The Sword Hans Almost Uses To Kill Her

Fans Are Sharing Creepy Fan Theories About Disney Princesses (1)

    From Redditor u/bhamv:

TLDR: Elsa conjures the sword at the end of the movie because she wants Hans to kill her.

At the end of Frozen, Hans approaches Elsa and tells her that Anna is dead. Elsa collapses in grief, and then Anna nearby hears the sound of Hans drawing his sword. She sees Hans about to strike Elsa with the sword and rushes in to block the blow. She turns to ice, and the sword shatters when it strikes her frozen hand.

There's a problem though: When Hans is talking to Elsa, he clearly has no sword, neither in his hand nor carried on his body. So did Disney make a massive goof when they had him draw a sword to kill Elsa? I say no. Each frame of an animated film can take hours or even days to render. For the lengthy time they spent creating that scene, someonewould've noticed Hans isn't carrying a sword. Therefore, Hans being unarmed to start was likely deliberate.

Where did the sword come from, then? The obvious answer is thatElsa conjured it with her magic. The sound Anna heard wasn't of Hans drawing his weapon, it was the sound of Elsa summoning the weapon to Hans's hand.

At this point in the movie, Elsa has every reason to seek death. She's had enough of a lifetime of fear, isolation, and persecution. Her entire family's dead. And, at this point, she has no idea how to stop the winter; for all she knows, her death is truly the only option for Arendelle. She also knows Hans is here to kill her, because she says, “Please, just take care of my sister.” She knows she won't be around any more. She gives Hans the means to end her life.

This also might explain why the sword shattered against Anna's frozen form. There have been lots of theories about how steel is brittle in [extremely] cold conditions and how Anna's ice is magical, and these are plausible explanations. Another one, however, is that the sword is actually made of ice.

    Captain Hook Killed Ariel's Mother

    From the Fan Theories Wiki:

We know that Ariel's mother died somehow! This must be the way.

While she gets little screen time, she gets enough for you to notice that she resembles one of the mermaids in Mermaid Lagoon from Peter Pan.

You know who is also in Peter Pan? Captain Hook.

Moana Was Dead For Most Of The Movie

Fans Are Sharing Creepy Fan Theories About Disney Princesses (3)

    From Redditor u/davemidrock:

Moanabegins with the titular character [on] her home island doing normal, worldly things. Then she gets the call to action, gets on a boat, goes on an adventure, saves the world, and then goes back home. [At] the very beginning of her journey, Moana asks the ocean for help and immediately gets hit by a storm. We're meant to understand that the storm drove her to her destination because she wakes up [on] Maui's island.

What if there's a barrier between the normal, human world and the magical otherworld, where are all the things from Polynesian mythology are? And the only way to get to the otherworld is to be a part of it? For instance, by being dead?

My theory is that the storm killed Moana so she could go to the place where all the weird magic stuff exists, and at the very end, Te Fiti not only fixes Moana's boat (which had been wrecked to bits) but also brings her back to life so she can go back to the human world. Things to support it:

    - Moana doesn't meet or interact with any normal humans from the moment of the storm until after Te Fiti brings her back; she only runs across Maui and monsters.

    - Throughout the film, Moana survives things no human could survive (just look at all her falls in the Realm of Monsters). The only time we see Moana get physically hurt is when she gets her foot stuck in the reef - which takes place BEFORE the storm, when she was still [on] her island (and alive). (Of course, being apparently made of steel could also just be because she's a cartoon).

    - Moana meets her grandma and ancestors as ghosts during her adventure; she also sees her grandma's spirit as a stingray before the storm, but it is only after the storm that the two actually interact and talk to each other (because they're both dead).

    - In early drafts of the script, the Realm of Monsters was called the underworld, and Moana actually met her ancestors there (that doesn't matter so much because it's not canon, just a bit of trivia).

And all of this applies to Hei Hei the chicken as well since he was with Moana all throughout her adventure. He must have also died in the storm and then been brought back to life by Te Fiti (at the end, Maui even points out, "The chicken lives").

Belle Was Not The First Girl The Beast Kept In His Castle

Fans Are Sharing Creepy Fan Theories About Disney Princesses (4)

    From Redditor u/cheemsgyaru:

When the Enchantresssaid [the Prince would] have until his 21st year, she meant 21 years into the curse rather than him being 21 years old. When the film's going on, the curse has been in swing for 21 years. The Beast is in his 40s, which is much more in line with how his character acts and how he relates to Belle.

Lumiere'sinfamous “10 years” line referred to the fact they hadn’t beenusedin 10 years, “needing exercise, a chance to use our skill.” He’s literally saying they haven’t put on a show for 10 years. Not that they’ve been cursed for 10 years. He implies that in the early years of the curse, either there was company or they put on shows for the Prince to cheer him up. But the fact the song is [called] “Be Our Guest” implies this is something they do for guests, most likely to win over captives.

But I believe other girls were held captive before Belle. Hints: [The Beast is] surprised Belle didn’t shudder at his paw; possibly he experienced that rejection before. They had a room ready for a girl. The furniture had protocol for guests, and the wardrobe had clothes ready for her.

I think in the early years, the Beast and the servants took girls to the castle through various means and tried to get them to break the curse, but none of them could, at which point they’d probably be left to starve in the dungeon like Maurice would have. Hence the Beast's memorable line, “Then [go ahead and] starve!”

I think that in the 11th year, something particularly disastrous happened and he stopped trying, which is why the furniture didn’t put on a show/have a guest for 10 years. Even the narration says, “As the years passed, he lost hope,” meaning he did once try to get girls over to break the curse and there were attempts.

Eric Was Obsessed With Ariel Because She Enchanted Him

Fans Are Sharing Creepy Fan Theories About Disney Princesses (5)

    From Redditor u/sherlockdoctor:

TLDR: Eric was so obsessed with Ariel because she inadvertently enchanted him when she saved him.

Ariel is a mermaid, which are also known as sirens. Sirens use their voices to bewitch sailors. It's stated in the movie that Ariel has the most beautiful voice. So when Ariel rescues Eric, she sings to him from her heart a song about her desire to be with him. She accidentally used the magic in her voice to enchant Eric the same way she would've if she had wanted to lure him like the sirens in Greek myths, something she never quite realized she did. Ursula obviously knew how to do it because she later used Ariel's voice to put Eric under a spell to get him to marry her.

But really, this explains why Eric was so obsessed/fell in love with a voice (to the point of “I will marry beautiful voice girl and no one else”), despite never having seen the girl. He literally couldn't get it out of his head, and it probably would've [made] him insane if that necklace hadn't broken in the end (effectively ending both spells).

Tinker Bell Is The Last Of Her Kind

Fans Are Sharing Creepy Fan Theories About Disney Princesses (6)

    From Redditor u/CamilaCazzy:

In the original Peter Pan movie, released in 1953, Tinker Bell is shown to be highly possessive, envious, and short-tempered, even going as far as to try and kill Wendy so that all the attention will go back to her.

However, in the spinoff series, her personality is much friendlier. Furthermore, there were many other fairies there, such as Silvermist, Vidia, and Iridessa. Her personality in the 1953 movie might be that way because a disastrous event killed off all the other fairies, with Peter Pan being the only friend she had left. She is extremely possessive of him out of a fear of losing him.
