Nicola Walker returns to screens in a new BBC drama playing the wife lead in a 30-year marriage that's had its ups and downs as fans ask where can I watch Marriage?
This four-part series filmed in Hertfordshire and written and directed byStefan Golaszewski(Him and Her, Mum), has Nicola (star of Last Tango in Halifax, The Split, Unforgotten) play the role of Emma, opposite Sean Bean (Time, Broken, Game of Thrones) who plays Ian.
Viewers will witness their insecurities, the ambiguities, the hopes and the fears that are part of all marriages, as the drama explores the risks and the gifts of a long-term intimate relationship.

Marriage is a new BBC One drama starring Nicola Walker and fans can watch it on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting 14th August at 9pm. As soon as the first episode has aired, all four episodes will be available to binge watch in one go if you wish.Here's the episode synopsis...
- Episode One - Ian (Sean Bean) and Emma (Nicola Walker) get back from their holiday in Spain and return to their normal lives. Ian has recently been made redundant and is beginning to adapt to his new existence. Emma is doing well at work and trying to balance that with Ian’s feelings. Their daughter Jessica (Chantelle Alle) brings her boyfriend Adam (Jack Holden) round to meet them.
- Episode Two - Ian (Sean Bean) continues his job search with no success. Meanwhile, Emma (Nicola Walker) is excited to find she has the opportunity to go to a work conference, where she might get contacts for her business idea. She’s nervous of telling Ian, but when Ian meets Emma’s boss and hears about the conference through him, he confronts her. Emma's father (James Bolam) interrupts their anniversary plans, meanwhile Jessica (Chantelle Alle) has an argument with Adam (Jack Holden) and looks for a way out.
- Episode Three - Emma (Nicola Walker) attends the conference with Jamie (Henry Lloyd-Hughes) as Ian (Sean Bean) waits at home and wonders what she’s up to. Jessica (Chantelle Alle) meets a new friend who could be something more.
- Episode Four - Jessica (Chantelle Alle) moves home and Ian (Sean Bean) gets to spend some time with her. Jamie (Henry Lloyd-Hughes) receives an unexpected visitor and Emma (Nicola Walker) decides to tell him and her father some truths.

Marriage BBC drama cast
The cast of Marriage, the new BBC drama features Nicola Walker as Emma, Sean Bean, as Ian. Plus Chantelle Alle (Mood, We Are Lady Parts), as Ian and Emma's daughter Jessica, James Bolam (New Tricks, The Likely Lads) as Emma’s father Gerry, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes (The Inbetweeners, Killing Eve,Ragdoll) as Emma's boss Jamie.
Speaking about playing the role of Ian, Sean said, "Ian is a man who isn’t very sure of himself and not very confident. He used to be when he had a job and was in a relatively a high up position. He was a moderator at his firm but that’s gone and he’s recently lost his mother. Emma is working and going places. Then there’s a younger man on the scene [Jamie] so when you add them all together, he’s quite suspicious. Ian is a very vulnerable and unsettled man and lots of little things begin to stir up into a big pot of worry!"

Meanwhile Nicola revealed what makes them laugh off camera, "There are times we have laughed a lot off camera when I’ve made about 30 sandwiches for one scene and boiled the kettle 28 times but they are simple actions you do every day.. It’s all in the detail, it’s very revealing. Those mundane every day details!"
She recalled, "My most memorable scene was applying cream to Sean Bean’s thigh area. It was a beautiful moment and one that I never expected as Ian had a nasty rash! It was a tremendous day in my professional career. Luckily it was in a tasteful position for camera!"

Show creator Stefan added, “It's amazing to get to work with Sean Bean and Nicola Walker inMarriage. They're actors of such depth, truth and warmth..."
And revealed what inspired the show, "Seeing the world full of beautiful things where people fall in love and then do their best to be together. I think there’s something really gorgeous about humans and worth celebrating."
